Bonjour Paris!

In a series of latest changes, Pokerstars will be reforming their famous European Poker Tour this year, and after two years of French exclusion, will now be welcoming them back for this year’s Tour. It is not the players who were unfriendly, but the French government and the Poker Tour simply butted heads from the beginning. January 2009 will mark the kick off of the new season, and many Europeans are looking forward to it, as it will stave off the lull that always follows the glitz and excitement of the holiday season.

The European Poker Tour is exactly that, a tour, and it usually makes a few stops at the major European cities before wrapping up. However, it has been officially announced that the French stop will be and the famous Casino Barriere Deauville. Because this is shaping up to be one of the biggest that the tour has ever seen, organizers are talking about possibly capping the size of the event at about 700 players maximum, which even then will result in an unheard of prize pool.

From now until right before the tour, several online poker casinos will be offering satellite qualifying tournaments which many should take advantage of, since this year’s prize pool is promising to surpass the 3 million Euro mark, which is certainly no chump change. Other ways to make it into the tournament of course include the standard buy in which is being listed at 5,300 Euro, but of course winning a seat would be so much better because it includes all of the other exciting extras that come with these famous prize packages in the world of poker.

At least this year will allow for some Parisian sightseeing in conjunction with the poker hours, because as snobby as the rest of the world can be, there is no comparison with seeing the Eiffel Tower in person. Bonjour, Paris!
