Norway Norwegian culture has long been focused on a healthy balance of activities, and especially since they are located so far North of the Arctic Circle, it is common knowledge that indoor activities are highly popular and necessary as they don’t see the sun for an entire half of every year. This is the exact reason that up until now the online and land casino and poker industry has been popular and successful in Norway, that is, until now. The most recent development in Norway is that the government has decided to expel all poker gambling in both land and online casinos. Unfortunately for online poker fans in Norway, the government basically decided to still follow some outdated laws that didn’t take into account the popularity of a pastime that wasn’t even invented yet. What is bad news for Norway is good news for the UK, whose online poker casino market has basically absorbed the rejected outflow from up north. Now the UK will be seeing more traffic and will be seeing more people in their sites from Norway and will of course see more tax revenue from the increased play. What is good news for the UK tax system might be bad news for British poker players since now they have even more excellent opponents to try to beat out. If anything the UK online poker scene might be getting a little more exciting, which is just a loss for Norwegians everywhere. Still, poker fans are not ones to give up on some fun, as they still were able to take part in a highly successful land casino poker tournament which has been traditionally held annually and features some of the best players from all over the country. This year’s tournament was held in Nottingham and everybody seemed to have a great time, despite being made to travel farther than they were accustomed to.
