Poker for Good Beside all the controversy that inevitably seems to follow the world of online casinos and poker, it has to be said that this is one of the most generous philanthropic industries across the board. It is heard very often that these companies go out of their way to spread the wealth, and help the world in any way they can. They were some of the first companies to respond after Hurricane Katrina, and of course after the Tsunami a few years prior. Even notorious online casino poker bad boy Calvin Ayres prides himself on being highly involved in philanthropic causes. Maybe his motives might be other than sound, but that’s for him to worry about. The latest earthquake in Italy is just another event that online poker casinos are coming together to aid. Many sites are opting to use it in terms of promotions for their own casino, but Stanleybet is the first to have already pledged a specific amount of money to the cause. The company will be donating one million Euros to the people of Italy who are suffering the effects of the quake, which is surprising and very nice to see. Many other casinos are doing the more traditional matching method, in which they are willing to put a certain percentage of the wagers that people make into a fund, but it is so refreshing to see a company bite the bullet and promise so much, regardless of the uncertainty of how much money they will bring in during the upcoming quarter. Of course nobody wants a situation where they need any kind of help in a disaster, but it’s certainly comforting to know that there are so many online poker casinos ready to jump in and lend help where they can. Stanleybet specifically has been one of those companies that repeatedly rises to the top in terms of being proactive and lending a hand.
