Poker in the Book Online poker fans in the United States should be very happy and thankful for democracy in this country, since getting ones’ voice heard is that much easier here than anywhere else. Poker has been getting a lot of publicity lately, since the Poker Players Alliance has been pushing for the legalization and regulation of online poker. President Obama has come up with a way to hear people’s concerns in a direct grassroots way, through a website called Change.gov. People can submit their proposals for legislation changes and concerns on the websites, and then people can vote to show their support for any certain cause. The ones that rise to the top are included in a book that is presented directly to the President himself. The great thing about the White House Citizen’s Briefing Book is that citizens are able to get their issues straight to the President himself, without having to wait for their representatives to decide to tackle an issue. According to the votes, the legalization of online poker is a widespread cause and issue, and it is at the top of the technology issues list. The Poker Players Alliance has been calling on all poker fans to come together to form a unified front in support of this new proposal, which champions the cause of legalized poker as a way to remedy the current economic crisis. In addition, the proposal cites legalization as the only way to crack down on cheating dangers and promote safety in the activity in the first place.
