Annie on Celebrity Apprentice

The world famous poker player Annie Duke has become a household name to more than just poker fans. This last season she was one of the contestants who participated in Donald Trump’s reality television show Celebrity Apprentice.

Since Annie Duke treats poker like a business, she has been able to translate her success at the game into a multimillion dollar company, with several cash streams and various activities and industries of focus. She not only plays poker, but she is also one of the most outspoken ambassadors on behalf of legalizing online poker, is one of the founding members of the Poker Players Alliance, and was the second runner up in Celebrity Apprentice.

Annie Duke used her publicity wisely during the Celebrity Apprentice by raising both awareness and charity money for her favorite cause. Many Americans who are against the legalization and regulation of online poker have a negative image of who a poker player is, and seeing that Annie is a regular, powerful business woman of sound mind and good morals is just what the country needed.

Not only did she represent the country’s poker players well, she also represented the possible good that poker can do in the world, be good business people, and be successful in several industries.

Unfortunately, during the show Melissa Rivers made a few disparaging comments about poker players and Annie Duke, and in response, the Poker Players Alliance and the World Series of Poker Commissioner came to Annie’s defense. Being called Hitler or mafia like is uncalled for in the first place.
