Poker Idiot Gets His When people think of Salt Lake City, they think capital city, Mormons, and maybe about Big Love, HBO’s popular tv show. What they don’t think about, ever, is crime. Perhaps in an unfortunate association, a poker player in Salt Lake City made the stupid decision to go rob a pharmacy after being kicked out of his poker game. The game happened to be held at his house, where he was hosting his buddies for a night, and he apparently got a little too rowdy for their tasted and got kicked out of the game. It looks like he took it a bit rougher than they had intended, as he didn’t just go in the other room to watch some poker on tv, and instead took a long walk to the local pharmacy to score some drugs. But wait there’s more. Apparently, this man decided it would be a good idea to first get into a huge fight with another man at the poker game, and then smash a window by throwing something through it, and then going to a Walgreens to hold a store up. It would be my best bet that he is not a member of the LDS community, as they are pretty much against gambling, drinking, violence, stealing, and drug abuse, which are all things that he was guilty of, all in one night. In a rough turn of events for this degenerate, he was charged with a couple felony offenses, from robbery to drug possession to fleeing, which he totally deserves. It is truly people like this who give poker a bad name, since now of course the town’s headlines must sound something like “Poker Causes Violence” or “Poker Players are Criminals”. The most important thing to note here is that Utah actually has a zero tolerance stand on all gambling and doesn’t even have a legal state lottery. So not only did this man misbehave, but he decided to do so in the state that would give him the harshest punishment possible. Good work. Back to January 2009 Archive. |
