Montel Reps Poker

Most of us are familiar with the television work that Emmy award winning host Montel Williams has done. Over the years he has tackled such difficult topics like child abuse, to more trivial topics, to everything in between. After a few years off due to illness, he is back in full force, ready to lend his support to yet another cause.

That is of course, the fight of the American poker player. At a time when several cases are going on in many states all over the country in which the definition of poker is being questioned, Williams is acknowledging that it is in fact a game that has the  power to unify a very diverse set of people.

Poker is one of the most popular and universal pastimes all over the world, and it is in fact played by everyone from the most simple of folks to the richest and most powerful all over the world. Currently the United States is trying to figure out where we stand in regards to gambling and online poker and casino activity, but we are clearly going about it in the wrong way.

Williams will be setting aside the definition debate for now, and instead focusing on the unifying power of the game. He will be introducting the International Team Poker League through a reality tv show which is set to debut this fall.

Williams has for years now been very involved in poker, and has even gone so far as to release a statement eschewing his love for the game. He is so excited to be involved in such a deep level with this project and hopes that this tv show will bring to light that the country needs fair and just regulations for dealing with these things that apparently lawmakers would rather not acknowledge.
