Winter Break Poker Even though it’s a little bit too early for spring break, poker fans are flocking to the Bahamas this month for Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure, or PCA. Poker fans everywhere really can’t turn down a couple weeks in paradise during which to thaw out and enjoy the scenery. Beautiful hands and beautiful bikini bodies everywhere aren’t something that people in their right mind turn down, so it is no wonder that that tournament is back for more this year. After last year’s huge success, it was no doubt that PokerStars was definitely onto something really huge. As if poker weren’t enough to attract people to the Bahamas, a week in the sun while the rest of the world freezes to death, sounds wonderful even if you’re not a poker player. The event either way is quickly becoming one of the most popular and competitive in the poker world, even being compared in the same category with the World Series of Poker. This year’s event alone promises to be bigger than last year’s, as it already will be hosting over 1000 players, all of whom were required to qualify for a $10 thousand buy in. It is basically a winter retreat for poker lovers everywhere since there were about three or four poker events going on simultaneously, and was set to culminate with a huge party tournament at the end. It is truly a hard life, that of a poker player. Back to January 2009 Archive. |
