Poker Players Have Hearts

Everest Poker did a Valentine’s Day survey this year, which proved to be very interesting and is certainly a good and accurate snapshot of what is going on across the country. The question basically asked all poker players what their plans were on the international day for love. More and more people have become increasingly turned off by the whole idea of Valentine’s Day, and they have been seeing it as a money making machine.

From the overpriced flowers and cards and food, to the harried and expensive dinners, the whole thing is so pressurized that there is no room to enjoy what the day was started for in the first place. This, combined with all the high expectations many people have for the holiday have made a really awful combination, where everybody ends disappointed.

Poker players who answered the survey were largely single, however and could account for the negative reaction. Still many couples are choosing to avoid or at least postpone any celebratory dinners. One member said that he and his wife actually had dinner in under 45 minutes, and more than likely it wasn’t even good food!

Many Everest Poker players were still logged on and playing, most likely avoiding all the overly affectionate couples and the traffic that Valentines Day means every year. However for their sake, we can only hope that all players were single that night, since if they were playing poker on Valentine’s Day we can all be sure that those players were in the doghouse for the next 24 hours.
