Telling Tales

Poker is really all about knowing what cards are up, and how behavior might translate into what kind of a specific hand a person might be playing. Many poker experts claim to be able to tell with exact certainty, the exact cards that an opposing player is holding, and then is able to know what action to take in order to get that person to do what they want them to do.

One such player is the famous Shane McCubbin, who has in the past claimed that he has seen how good a hand is from watching a person’s neck. While that is certainly a talent not very many people have, it is easy to see how such tells can make or break a person’s chance at having a poker career. If you are good at reading a person’s energy and body language, then that can only help you. However, if you’re also bad at masking your own physical reactions, then others will pick up on that easily as well, no matter how good you might be at reading other people.

McCubbin is the first to admit his talent is not flawless. He has said that his instincts have been way off base in the past, but that it is still very fun to practice often. McCubbin of course is the factory supervisor over at Byron Bay who has found some fame and fortune working his way up the ranks of the poker elite. He also has witnessed the rise and fall and new rise of popularity of online poker, and says that it is so fun for him to try out the various forms of playing. His definite advice is that one should absolutely avoid playing poker machines, and try to become adept at reading people, since that is usually more foolproof than trying to outsmart or outthink a machine.
