Straight Talk from the PPA The Poker Players Alliance, or PPA is working round the clock to bring to light the issues that plague poker players every day. From the fight for the regulation and legalization of online poker gambling, to being concerned over the well being of poker fans everywhere, the PPA has taken it upon themselves to keep involved in all of these issues, and rally up its members to stand up for their rights. One way that they are doing this is that they are launching an ad campaign in and around the DC area in order to inform and seek the support of as many legislators as possible. The people at Capitol Hill are responsible for making the decisions for all these people, and so they must be informed of what the people want, and that is the federal involvement in the regulation of online poker. They are calling the campaign “It’s Time for Some Straight Talk” and comes at a time when expressing needs is very crucial, since it’s time for the changing of the guard. It echoes the sentiments and issues presented by two separate shows done by 60 Minutes and the Washington Post, which both came to the same conclusion that Prohibition is ineffective and Regulation is the better pathway to success. Furthermore, it says that the government has been shirking its responsibility to its law abiding citizens in neglecting to provide a safe forum in which to partake in their fun, and by ignoring the need for clear rules that take care of the needs of the people. This is just the latest in a series of public admonitions to government representatives to listen to reason and legalize online poker.
