Mexicans Put a Stop to Poker

The LAPT, or Latin American Poker Tour has now officially hit a bump in the road, due to a severe mix-up in Mexican red tape. Unfortunately, the inefficiency of some parts of the country has now affected the new generation of entertainment, driven by the new generation of young hipsters.

Up till now, the LAPT has been thoroughly successful and quite a huge hit, especially since Latin America is quickly trying to model their government, television, and pop culture after what is going on in the States. The recent years have seen a huge rise in the power of the youth, who are fed up with the old ways of doing things, and are ready for some excitement and change. Furthermore, poker has trickled down just the same, and many teens and young adults are getting into the craze that took over the States a few years back.

The LAPT has promised to be a huge success across the board, but as any change, it is slow and often hits some obstacles. Even after starting, this year, the Tournament hit some slow points since they unfortunately ran into some opposition from local law enforcement in Nuevo Vallarta, even though the tournament had gone through all the proper avenues before putting on the event. They had even had their appropriate papers from the Ministry of the Interior that gave them permission to put on the event, but that apparently didn’t mean anything to the local officials who made them shut down after not even completed the first full day, and no reason was given for the sudden change.

There will be an official investigation to follow.
