Poker Dynasty

These days in poker, many of the greats have established their offspring as poker greats in their own right, creating a sort of poker dynasty for the ages. Sometimes these Poker great seniors have instilled poker in the blood of their children, and other times, it is actually after soul searching and rebellion that some get involved in it. Whatever the case, the most recent family affair to be making some headlines happens to be that of the O’Dea clan. The senior player, Donnacha O’Dea, World Series of Poker winner, has made a name for himself over the years, as a popular front runner in several events.

Now it’s his son’s turn, Eoghan, who is barely 24 years old. He has already made quite a name for himself on Paddy Poker, where he has been beating countless other online poker players on a consistent basis. Now he has actually won the entire iPoker European Championship of Online Poker, or ECOOP, and gotten a nice $315,000 to deposit into his bank account. There were over a thousand players that he had to beat out, all of whom ponied up the cash, also over a thousand dollars, to just participate in this major poker event.

In his mere 23 years of life, Eoghan has already amassed over $37,000 in poker winnings, and has already participated in poker tournaments that many players strive to even qualify for.

We are guessing that the O’Dea household was pretty ok with poker playing, just not necessarily at the dinner table. Heck, if it brings in that amount of money, what’s wrong with a little poker at dinner?
