Wooka Tears It Up
Life is tough for female poker players.
Since it is a predominately male world, they have had to be
stealthier and better than their male counterparts to be
accepted. As poker for women becomes more mainstream, and more
women are showing the boys how good they are, it is becoming
more and more common for the girls to win some pretty
prestigious titles and positions. For example, one of the latest
leading ladies in poker has got to be Wooka Kim. Kim has
actually been playing poker for years, having been on Everest
poker since about 2006. In her first year alone, she was able to
make over $90,000, and since then that number has just been on
its way up and up.
The latest Wooka Kim news is that she
has now reached the level of professional poker player! The
Japanese poker master was chosen to represent Everest Poker in
Asia for one year. One of the huge responsibilities is for her
to represent Everest in this year’s Macau tournaments, which is
absolutely a huge breakthrough, not only on a personal level for
her, but certainly for women poker players everywhere. She has
been tearing up the circuit since she bursted onto the scene,
demolishing her competition at the women’s tournament and then
at several online and land poker tournaments since.
Macau of course, is the host of the
Asian Poker Tour, as well as the Asian Pacific Poker Tour, which
are scheduled for the end of this month at the Galaxy Hotel. The
major tournament has a buy-in that exceeds $3,000 and players
can expect a chance to win over $1 million dollars in prize
money. After her recent success at the World Series of Poker,
winning $25,000, it is certain that her confidence will be up as
she continues her Ambassadorship of Everest Poker.
