WSOP Europe

It’s World Series of Poker (WSOP) qualifier season once again, as Bodog fans everywhere will now have a chance to vie for a seat at the Europe Main Event. Those who play in the Main Event will actually be competing for an official bracelet, and it is such a huge and popular high stakes poker game that ESPN in the States has decided to broadcast it.

BodogLife.com is currently offering qualifying tournaments online for all its members, who have the option of playing the high stakes tables or the lower stakes (as low as $1!).

The WSOP franchise has turned poker into an international craze, and even though the game has been around for years and years, it hasn’t been until recently that the popularity of the game has literally exploded onto the gambling scene. Until recently, the major casino draw has been the slot machines, where players have absolutely no control over their fate. In contrast, poker is actually a game of skill, and often danger and risk, a fact which has been repeatedly portrayed in popular movies such as the Oceans series and 21.

Since poker games such as Texas Hold’em have achieved such a mainstream status, people everywhere have been researching great players like Doyle Brunson and Phil Hellmuth, and studying poker theory, all for a chance to qualify for a major tournament. Probably the most famous of all these international tournaments has to be the WSOP, which has several ways to qualify. The fact that anybody can qualify, whether through an online tournament or by an actual land casino tournament is another reason that the game has become so popular. Anybody can play, there are no limits, as long as a seat is won fair and square.
