Rewarding Good Behavior South Africa has been in talks to have online poker casino gambling for a few years now. While of course the industry is difficult at best, to regulate, people have still been accessing the technology from off shore gambling casinos anyway. Those companies that have been operating without having the appropriate licensing or sanctions will have to be penalized. Now that South Africa is close to finally implementing a working system for regulation and taxation of the industry, the country has decided to give special breaks to those who have followed the rules and stayed out of South Africa until it was ok to come in. The special breaks actually are just that those online poker companies will be allowed to operate within the country. Other companies will now actually be kicked out of the country and will have a significant loss of revenue. South Africa took its time to decide how to proceed mostly because they were studying the various models of operation around the world, and wanted to find something that would work and benefit the most people. Now that the time is imminent, it is clear that they have found something that they like, and will be enforcing it completely. What will be interesting to see is how long it will take the United States to wise up and follow suit. Either way it is lucky that so many countries have had so much success since the US will have many models upon which to design the new law structure once the time actually comes to make online poker and slots casinos legal in the States.
