New Bingo Tax

In other online poker casino gambling news, it looks like bingo players and casinos have gotten the short end of the stick once again. The UK Parliament has just recently announced a change in the budget that would translate into a 7% increase in taxes for bingo operators. Needless to say, the Bingo companies are all less than thrilled, since they have been once again treated as an industry that gets the least revenue and deals with the most amount of taxes. Already the other industries such as slots poker and sportsbetting make more money, and receive several unfair tax breaks and other special treatment.

One such miffed bingo operator was Rank, a company that also provides consumers with top of the line sportsbetting. They have already seen some losses due to the new tariff, and even though their sportsbetting department is doing just fine, it is not enough to counteract the recent losses that they are reporting.

The dire effects of the new tax even extend further when the shareholders take the new circumstances into account. The projections have been pretty dismal, which has led to less than favorable activity, and the shares have already dropped, which all means that the company will not be in a good place for a while.

Another unfortunate detail is the fact that there was no previous warning about the change that the company could have taken into account, or maybe changed their marketing strategy to make up for the loss. Instead the legislation simply changed and caught everybody off guard.
